London Mayor Sadiq Khan has made a direct appeal to WWE executive and wrestling icon Paul “Triple H” Levesque, urging him to bring WrestleMania to London.
“I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London,” Khan said in an interview with F.M.I.E Sources. “Triple H, if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania in the U.K. capital.”
Khan emphasized that hosting the WWE’s biggest event would “open a completely new market” for the company.
LONDON, ENGLAND – JUNE 2, 2025 – Speaking at the opening session of SXSW London 2025, Mayor Sadiq Khan renewed his push for bringing WrestleMania to the British capital, addressing WWE’s chief content officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, directly in his remarks to F.M.I.E Sources.
This is not the first time Khan has shown interest—he previously held talks with Levesque in July 2024, a move that added fuel to growing speculation about London as a potential host city.
“If WrestleMania came to London,” Khan stated, “it wouldn’t just be a weekend event. It would be a full-on festival—past legends, current superstars, and rising talent all gathering in our great city.”
He added, “It will open a whole new market for WWE as well.”
London’s candidacy as host received early momentum back in 2023 when John Cena made a surprise appearance during a WWE event in the city and publicly supported the idea. WrestleMania, often dubbed the “Super Bowl of Wrestling,” has never been hosted outside of North America.
Triple H, now a key executive at WWE, most recently oversaw WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this past April. The event is typically surrounded by a full week of WWE programming including SmackDown, Raw, and fan-centered experiences.
Khan made his case by positioning London as the global hub of sports:
“We host Wimbledon, NFL games, major football tournaments—you name it,” he said. “London is the sporting capital of the world.”
WWE, now owned by TKO Group, continues its global expansion. Earlier this year, its flagship show Monday Night Raw began streaming on Netflix, signaling a new phase of international reach.
Khan concluded, “The potential of WrestleMania hasn’t peaked yet. And if WWE is looking to elevate the brand even further, the most natural next step is London.”
